Castlecomer is hosting a Fantastic Writers Festival  .   This is a three day celebration of words, stories, film, and music with some of Irelands finest writers, including Sheila O'Flanagan, Anita Notaro, Neville Thompson, Martina Reilly, Vera McHugh, Eileen Sheehan, James Lawless, Mark Roper, John W Sexton, Declan Burke and Garbhan Downey.Here you will have an opportunity to come face to face with the writers and combine your love of reading and writing with a weekend in this attractive and unique town.With a fantastic array of Classes, Interesting Talks, workshops, raffles, antique book exhibition, book sales, beautiful countryside and lots of activities for the children, the Castlecomer Festival is sure to have something for everyone. The 34 Workshops range from poetry to novels, playwriting to political satire with speciality workshops for children and are all free.  Also included in the proramme is a play titled "Clerical Errors", short films, face painting and so much more.  For information please contact Castlecomer Library: 056 4440561.
